Dr. Peter's Community Tapestry Project

1996

This 5’ x 8’ tapestry was woven by BCStars and the public, with the participation of more than 400 weavers. Created to raise awareness of the work of the Dr. Peter Centre during the AIDS crisis in Vancouver, the tapestry was woven on and displayed at the Vancouver Public Library from July to November 1996. Its design was inspired by Dr. Peter’s Affirmation quote: “From these elements I have come, and to these elements I shall return. The energy that is in me will not be lost.”
